Education
I completed my undergraduate degree at Central Michigan University in 2020. I graduated summa cum laude, majoring in Secondary English Education and minoring in history. While there, I worked as a consultant at the Writing Center , was a member of the Honors Program, participated in the college chapter of the National Council of Teachers of English, and got involved with the theatre program.
After teaching for a few years, I wanted to grow my skills as an educator, and found a program I liked at Michigan State University. The Master of Arts in Learning Experience Design program has helped me become a better designer, educator, and leader.

Professional Development and Involvement
I place a high value on continual learning for both myself and my students. At CMU, I developed a unit plan for combining English and drama pedagogies to teach Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. A photo of me performing a monologue from the play is pictured below on the far right.
In my current job, I have helped revive the performing arts’ program post COVID-19 at Bay City Western. I have directed shows from both acting and technical standpoints. A picture of the auditorium can be seen below on the far left.
I recently discovered the National Consortium for Teaching About Asia and have attended two summer seminars on how to bring East Asian culture, literature, history, and art into my classroom. A collage of photos from one I went to at the University of Colorado Boulder is pictured in the middle, below.
